Sea-Tac Flight Information Now Available on Mobile Devices

- Arrival and departure info PDQ on your PDA-

People needing to check the arrival or departure of a flight at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport can now do so right on their wireless Personal Data Assistant (PDA) or MS Windows-enabled cell phone.

Flight information has been available on full-size computers via the Port's Web site since December. This new feature will allow travelers to check their flights even when they don't have access to a desktop.

"We're really trying to make our Web site a place where passengers can go for information to help them with their travels," said Port of Seattle Commission President Patricia Davis. "We've been expanding the type of information available, and now we're expanding the kinds of devices that can display that information."

Users can select arrival or departure information, and then search by a number of criteria:

  • Airline

  • Flight Number

  • City

  • Date or Time of Day

The URL for PDAs is identical to that of the traditional desktop web site: http://hosting.portseattle.org/fids/. The system will detect that a PDA is accessing the site, and automatically reformat the data for the smaller screen.
